The Cairo Unmatched book series presents an intimate portrait of the capital of Egypt, Cairo, seen from its streets. Aiming to bring to the fore the creative practices of street design, the use of public spaces in the city and the unplanned interventions that give Cairo its distinctive character. The Cairo Unmatched Series currently has two volumes: The Art of Blocking and Sweet Lovely Life.
The Art of Blocking documents and shed light on the multiple techniques of recycling and redesign that people use to produce barriers to reserve parking spots in the streets with the materials and resources available, archived into 12 chapters according to their material family.
Sweet Lovely Life focuses on one color in the streets, that is pink; a color that is not usually associated instantly with Cairo and can be mostly perceived as an only feminine color. This book aims to prove the opposite.
